I'm Starting From Here.

I’m not starting over. I’m starting with what I already know—and trying some things I don’t.

I taught beauty school, once upon a time. And I have some ridiculous stories from that time in my life. These days, I own a salon and boutique in a tiny little town. Recently, I started a couple of YouTube channels, but I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up.

So, I'm trying a few things.

I'm teaching beauty school lessons from my old notes, complete with all the memory tricks I used with my students. I paint and tell stories about those students and some of the crazy clients we had along the way. I make videos about whatever I happen to be doing that week. And now I'm experimenting with AI to see what an ordinary person can actually build with it.

I'm getting closer to retirement age, so I figure this is as good a time as any to find out what I might want to do next.

Some of it will work. Some of it probably won't.

I'm showing you what happens either way.

There’s Always Something Going On.

I never did figure out how to stick to just one thing.

One day I’m painting and telling ridiculous stories. Another day I’m working on the salon, trying something new, or teaching beauty school from my old notes and memory tricks.

And apparently now I’m experimenting with AI, too.

New videos Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

There’s a Lot of Stuff

Between Washington and Florida, there are houses, rooms and collections full of things that have accumulated over the years—antiques, collectibles, furniture, décor and plenty of surprises.

Some things have stories. Some things have value. Some things just need a new home.

I'm sorting through all of it—and you'll get to come along.

A ceramic mug with dark brown glaze and carved fruit and leaf patterns, placed on a wood and stone countertop.
A living room corner with a wooden rocking chair, a white bookshelf filled with books, a white hydro massage device, a beige sofa with a blue blanket and pillows, a wooden box with a pile of books, yellow ceramic vases, a wicker basket, a small plant, and a wooden floor.
An old penny arcade game with a red sign on top that says '4 JACKS', a yellow and black front with a sign that says 'TRY YOUR SKILL' and instructions to drop a nickel, along with a coin slot and coins at the bottom. The game is placed on a wooden surface.

You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out.

Life changes. Plans change. Sometimes you choose a new direction, and sometimes life chooses it for you.

I'm not starting over. I'm starting with everything I've learned, everything I've lived through, and whatever comes next.

I'm starting from here. You can too.
